As the creator of Escape, he knows the danger and the temptation it presents, but the death of his girlfriend pushes him over the edge and it is only too easy to justify another hit if it means seeing her again. Then there is Lynn Stafford, a hypocritical congresswoman who uses a child's Escape-related death to resurrect her career. To her, this controversy is a godsend, but she is in denial that this just another symptom of a society that has failed its people. They are trapped in a world that has given up on them, dependent on systems that do not care about them. And for many, there is no escape from that reality.
